Hello,
Yesterday I got infected with what spybot reported as win32.tdss.rtk. After I restarted my computer I got a message that due to hardware changes I must register Windows within 3 days, even thought I already registered before and I have a legal copy.
Unfortunately I didn't find this forum immediately, so I simply used a lot of programs to try and remove the virus according to some guides I found.
I used: Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, Spybot S&D, AVG, SysProt AntiRootkit and ComboFix.
I don't know if I managed to completely remove the virus but I did manage to remove all the symptoms.
However windows still wants me to register within 3 days.
I'm not sure If I should do this because Im afraid I didnt completely remove the virus and something might happen to the CD-key.
I want to know if I manged to completely remove the virus and what should I do about the windows installation.
