I want to thank you in advance for your assistance. I installed ERUNT but when I try running prog get following error, "Windows cannot access the specified device, path or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the file."
I got infected 8/15 and have twice formatted drive and reinstalled Windows XP. First re-installation was re-infected adding "Start System Recovery" as start-up option. Clicked winnt32.exe located on my F: drive where I keep copies of my program installation disks, got virus warnings so scheduled Avast boot time scan. Avast found 6 infections and only got as far as desktop image in Windows, no start bar or navigation. Once again I formatted and re-installed assuming virus capable of attaching to other .exe's for re-infection. So 2nd time used all fresh files (none from copies on F:). Looking good until re-install of Photoshop, only program for which I have no cdrom backup. Clean pre-scans from Avast and Ad-Aware, as Phototshop's installing Avast detects virus but its name is unlike others, don't remember name but nothing like previous names, i.e. 2.tmp, 3.tmp, c.tmp etc. Rebooted after Photoshop install complete and got 6 virus alerts same virus names as previously. I'm not going to restart system for fear of getting stuck on desktop again. Following is Hijack report:

Hi Kelly,

Download DDS and save it to your desktop from here (http://www.techsupportforum.com/sectools/sUBs/dds) or here (http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/sUBs/dds.scr) or here (http://www.forospyware.com/sUBs/dds).
Disable any script blocker, and then double click dds.scr to run the tool.
When done, DDS will open two (2) logs:
DDS.txt
Attach.txt

Save both reports to your desktop. Post them back to your topic.

Download the latest version of Kaspersky Virus Removal Tool (ftp://downloads2.kaspersky-labs.com/devbuilds/AVPTool)

* Close all other applications and double-click and run the installer.
* When AVPTool starts, select all the scanable items except for CD-ROM drives and click the Scan button.
* If malware is detected, don't remove anything.
* After the scan finishes, don't neutralize anything.
* In the Scan window click the Reports button and select Save to file.
* Name the report AVPT.txt, and save it to the Desktop.
* Close AVPTool.
* You will be prompted if you want to uninstall the program; click Yes.
* You will then be prompted that to complete the uninstallation, the computer must be restarted. Select Yes to restart the system.
* Copy and paste the first part of the report (Detected) that you saved in your next reply. Do not include the longer list marked Events.
