View Full Version : system compromised with TR/Vundo.Gen?

Hello Spybot team,

considering myself well-protected with Avira Antivir and Spybot in addition to our router's security, I might have overestimated their potential...

Avira popped up with a warning and before I could realise what was going on, my firewall was shut down. I tried getting rid of what appears to be the trojan TR/Vundo.Gen but Spybot would not start, i.e. it was running but I could not access. When I tried to reinstall Spybot, the download-pages did not open or the download was denied for reasons of savety. I tried to allow exceptions, but without success. Via another pc I could obtain Spybot and re-installed it, but still cannot access. Deleting configuration.ini as described in Spybot's help file did not solve the problem, either, and the suggestion it might be CWS.Smartkiller v1/v2 did not make me any happier at all. A check with the removal utility did not confirm this, though.
After booting (savemode was not an option, due to damage in windows root\system 32\hal.dll, as I was informed when trying), Antivir shuts down and a little later I get a message that rundll32.dll has to be closed as well.
Since all my security appears to be compromised in a way I have never experienced before, I very much hope for your assistance in finding a solution. In your forum, I already found some hints and downloaded ERUNT and HJTInstall.exe in the same way I reinstalled Spybot, since none of the pages would open on my computer.
Thank you in advance for your assistance and good service!

ah, before I forget: I did use Azureus and after having read about p2p in your forum tried to uninstall, but the error "could'nt load main class" occured. Maybe you could lend me a hand with this one as well? I am almost certain that it was this nettler's gateway and you surely convinced me of the security risk.

Hi pivete,

Download DDS and save it to your desktop from here (http://www.techsupportforum.com/sectools/sUBs/dds) or here (http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/sUBs/dds.scr) or here (http://www.forospyware.com/sUBs/dds).
Disable any script blocker, and then double click dds.scr to run the tool.
When done, DDS will open two (2) logs:
DDS.txt
Attach.txt

Save both reports to your desktop. Post them back to your topic.

Download GMER (http://www.gmer.net) here by clicking download exe -button and then saving it your desktop:
Double-click .exe that you downloaded
Click rootkit-tab and then scan.
Don't check
Show All
box while scanning in progress!
When scanning is ready, click Copy.
This copies log to clipboard
Post log in your reply.
