View Full Version : Hijacked and antimalware tools won't work

So today I'm pretty sure I was hijacked. Everytime I click on a link from a search engine like google or yahoo, I'm redirected to some random sites. Not a single link will work from ANY search engine. So I started doing some searching on how to get this fixed and all the forums seem to start out with some common programs, ie. HijackThis, Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, Spybot S&D. However none of those will work to help me get started on clearing this infection. With HJT when I start up the .exe and do the scan, the program terminates as soon as the scan is finished. It will not let me save a log, and I can no longer start the program back up. ON TOP OF THAT, I cannot delete that .exe. It's very frustrating. I have even burned a CD with HijackThis on it (and no, I don't have any flash drives to try that) to see if I can run it from there, but to no avail. Same things apply to MBAM and Spybot S&D. As soon as the programs run and do their thing, they terminate automatically and the programs are no longer runnable. So unfortunately I cannot supply any of the computers information to the forum. Your time and help will be VERY much appreciated.

Download DDS and save it to your desktop from here (http://www.techsupportforum.com/sectools/sUBs/dds) or here (http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/sUBs/dds.scr) or here (http://www.forospyware.com/sUBs/dds).
Disable any script blocker, and then double click dds.scr to run the tool.
When done, DDS will open two (2) logs:
DDS.txt
Attach.txt
Save both reports to your desktop. Post them back to your topic.
Download GMER (http://www.gmer.net) here by clicking download exe -button and then saving it your desktop:
Double-click .exe that you downloaded
Click rootkit-tab and then scan.
Don't check
Show All
box while scanning in progress!
When scanning is ready, click Copy.
This copies log to clipboard
Post log in your reply.
