I have had this bug in the system for about a week now, Spybot detects it and fixes it. Yet next time on startup, it returns.

Hi andreas

Please post next spybot report :)

andreas
2009-08-31, 21:27
hi shaba,
I have just run spybot again and Win32.FraudLoad.edt has appeared again. (1 entry MalwareC) When I start the computer, I run spybot straight away to fix this problem. But now I'm running it, it seems to come back and start itself.
Also, I cannot create a registry back up each time on startup. I get an error-cannot remember which, but I should still have the first backup from ERUNT when I first downloaded it as per the instructions. I wonder if this bug is stopping the backup as well?

Shaba

It is always possible.

Can you maybe then take screenshot from it?

This is the only thing I've managed to come up with so far. It is the spybot report after running in default mode when it locates the problem. I've set out a rough diagram below of what I see when it is complete.

problem
kind

(-)--(tick in the box) Win32.FraudLoad.edt 1 entries

The brackets are the tick boxes. Underneath INI Delete, there is a cog-like icon. Hope this helps?

Shaba
2009-09-02, 13:05
Is it wininit.ini or winnit.ini?

andreas
2009-09-03, 23:18
sorry, my mistake. It is wininit.ini

Shaba
2009-09-04, 06:17
Please open that file with notepad and post back contents here.

andreas
2009-09-05, 11:42
what do I need to do? I thought I had put it into notepad, but when I tried to preview the post, I was told that the text was too long.

Shaba
2009-09-05, 12:31
You can open then it in WordPad and use multiple replied if needed :)

andreas
2009-09-06, 16:07
the maximum number of characters allowed in a post is 64000. I need space for 192210. I have tried in wordpad to split into three seperate replies, but each time, I still end up with the whole text in the post, even though I've selected only a third of it. I have tried copy/paste and dragging the text. The results are still the same.

Shaba
2009-09-06, 17:10
Then please upload it to rapidshare and post back link here :)

andreas
2009-09-07, 14:04
I've put the link on rapidshare.

Shaba
2009-09-07, 16:22
That doesn't unfortunately help.

You posted now spybot report.

Please post contents of C:\Windows\wininit.ini :)

andreas
2009-09-08, 20:34
I have typed in the details into the start menu, this is what it came up with in notepad. If this is not what you need, then you will need to give instructions to me so I can do it properly.

2009-09-08, 21:29
Please give instructions for post 16-where do I start-what do I do?

Shaba
2009-09-08, 21:45
Go to start - run.

Type notepad C:\WINDOWS\Tasks\{5B57CF47-0BFA-43c6-ACF9-3B3653DCADBA}.job and press enter.

Post contents of opening file, please.

andreas
2009-09-09, 20:52
It says it cannot find the file.

Shaba
2009-09-09, 21:04
Please update spybot, run a scan and let me know if it still finds it.

andreas
2009-09-11, 00:20
I have updated spybot and have run it four times. The last time in advance mode. It has not found Win32.FraudLoad.edt. I cannot see that anything has been done to get rid of it.

However, it then detected a further 14 entries of malware. They are all
Fraud.PrivacyComponents. Spybot has taken away 13 of these and left me with one with the further info of [SB1 $E2B79B2B] Link

C:\users\my email address\AppData\Roaming\privacy File components\temp\spfilter 1 entries
MalwareC

I have tried to remove this, hence the extra runs after the problem was apparently fixed. I run spybot again and it reappears. When the problem becomes 'Fixed' windows defender tells me 'a system change was made by a known application.' With the following details;

autostart

Application C:\windows\system32\cmd.exe

I'm not sure now that spybot is working correctly. It is not fully immunised and doesn't fix any problems as it should. (They show up again straight away) Has the Win32 bug become something else? It cannot have been removed, because I haven't done anything.

Shaba
2009-09-11, 06:11
Then I think it is best to uninstall and reinstall spybot to see if it helped.

andreas
2009-09-12, 11:59
I have uninstalled and reinstalled spybot and it has now found nothing. I have run the immunize but there is not 100% protection on it. How detrimental is it when not everything is immunized?

Also, what do I do with ERUNT/NTREGOPT and HJT? Plus if nothing has been done to remove the malware and it is not showing up, what has happened to it and can I be sure that if I run spybot and it finds nothing, there are no threats at all?:thanks:

Shaba
2009-09-12, 17:02
Please close browser and try again immunization.

Those programs can stay.

Well if it now doesn't find anything, it means that it error in definitions :)
