For some reason websites which I regularly used like my bank etc just wont open anymore. I've scanned my computer with malwarebytes and came up with nothing. Can anyone help?

Hello maryv. :)

Does the computer show any signs of infection and what is the operating system/security software installed?

Best regards.

Hi Tashi,

it's Windows XP, nothing special. I have loaded:

stopzilla
malware bytes
cc computer cleaner

I had AVG but I hope I removed it, likewise had Net Nanny and hopefully removed it.

The sites just don't load at all.

I took off AVG because it was annoying and didn't seem to do anything at all- there were still infections all the time. Malware malbytes stopped that .. or not maybe.

We thought AVG was interfering with the website.

Same with stopzilla but stopzilla is still running I think. It still shows up on the start bar.

I have the service packs installed up to service pack 3.

If AVG was annoying there are other AVs to choose from. Anti Virus Programs (http://forums.spybot.info/showthread.php?t=9289)
