Thanks for the guidance. I have now read the updated sticky, and followed the steps detailed.
Some background information, hopefully helpful:
-Infected last night, symptoms included suspicious red icon which said "your computer may be infected" & PC 2000 virus pop ups.
-I ran msconfig and looked at the start-up tab to see if anything stood out, saw "braviax" and another item. Unchecked them.
-Underestimated the problem and used a guide I Googled a guide on braviax which instructed the use of SDFIX and MBAM. Followed guide, and problems seemed to be fixed/reduced
-I also installed avast! and ad-aware in hopes of follow-up scans.
-Today I realize I am still infected and removed avast and ad-aware to ideally bring infection to original state.
-Remembered that in 2007 that this forum had successfully helped on another incident.
-I had to be very creative to get HJTinstaller to work. Had to rename installer, then rename directory and rename executable "ABCD etc") to finally get program to work with results posted below:
I will be monitoring this site on another computer all night. Looking forward to the guidance and thanks for the help.
