The following instructions have been created to help you to get rid of "TotalProtect2009" manually.

TotalProtect2009 claims to be an antispyware tool. When it is installed to the computer it finds a lot of harmless entries in order to frighten the user to make him buy a license to get the issue fixed.
Removal Instructions:

Please use Spybot-S&D (http://www.safer-networking.org/index.php?page=spybotsd), RunAlyzer (http://www.safer-networking.org/index.php?page=runalyzer) or msconfig.exe to remove the following autorun entries.
Entries named "Total Protect 2009" and pointing to "<$PROGRAMFILES>\Total Protect 2009\pcpc_starter.exe".
Files:
Please use Windows Explorer or another file manager of your choice to locate and delete these files.
The file at "<$COMMONDESKTOP>\Run Total Protect 2009.lnk".
The file at "<$COMMONPROGRAMS>\Total Protect 2009\Remove Total Protect 2009.lnk".

You will have to use a global search for files without a name specified. Be extra careful, because just the name might not be enough to identify files!
