View Full Version : Very strange PC behavior and Comodo going nuts

Recently I've been experiencing strange events on my PC such as the taskbar swapping back to the windows 98 style theme and back, or sometimes it will get stuck in win98 mode. However the window themes (minimize, maximize, close buttons) are all still xp themed. I scanned with spybot, and removed a couple tracking cookies, but the problem didn't go away. Now COMODO is telling me pdthost is trying to do stuff and i've blocked it but since then (about 45 seconds ago) it has made about 87 intrusion attempts.

Another thing that really bothered me was a file in my C:\ directory labeled "Firefox". When I opened it, it said Password Stealer at the top and followed by a list of websites and my username and passwords to them... Comodo is set to paranoid mode. and i'm desperately awaiting help. It's recommended you change all these passwords thru some clean known computer.

Download DDS and save it to your desktop from here (http://www.techsupportforum.com/sectools/sUBs/dds) or here (http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/sUBs/dds.scr) or here (http://www.forospyware.com/sUBs/dds).
Disable any script blocker, and then double click dds.scr to run the tool.
When done, DDS will open two (2) logs:
DDS.txt
Attach.txt

Save both reports to your desktop. Post them back to your topic.


Download GMER (http://www.gmer.net) here by clicking download exe -button and then saving it your desktop:
Double-click .exe that you downloaded
Click rootkit-tab and then scan.
Don't check
Show All
box while scanning in progress!
When scanning is ready, click Copy.
This copies log to clipboard
Post log in your reply.
