Help please, Vista home basic SP2 unusable

I have been asked to look at a PC problem for a friend, however I am still fairly inexperienced with windows vista.

The PC boots but then is incredibly slow, taking several minutes to open internet explorer.

I have run malwarebytes anti-malware which detects no threats.

I have tried to install AVG to do a virus scan, but this failed to install.

Hi,

Sorry for a delayed reply. If help is still needed do this, please:

Download random's system information tool (RSIT) by random/random from here (http://images.malwareremoval.com/random/RSIT.exe) and save it to your desktop.
Double click on RSIT.exe to run RSIT.
Click Continue at the disclaimer screen.
Once it has finished, two logs will open. Please post the contents of both log.txt (<<will be maximized) and info.txt (<<will be minimized, if not you'll find it in c:\rsit folder)
