View Full Version : HAAAALP! Surf SideKick 3 is indestructable

I somehow got SurfSidekick on my computer, and nothing i have will delete it. i have done ad aware, microsoft anti spy, spybot and ewido in safe mode 4 o 5 times apiece already, and while it says it has deleted them it is still there. here is my HJT log

ok, i managed to get rid of it not with that, but with killbox....but now there is something called cmdservice that is in the registry and i cant find it

1. Please update your Ewido Anti-malware to its latest definitions..

2. Please download delcmdservice (http://users.telenet.be/marcvn/tools/delcmdservice.zip) (by Marckie), and save it to your Desktop.

Unzip the content to your Desktop (a folder named delcmdservice)
Double-click on the delcmdservice folder
Double-click on delreg.bat to launch the tool
When the tool has finished, please reboot your computer.

Next, please reboot your computer in Safe Mode by doing the following:
1) Restart your computer
2) After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, press F8.
3) Instead of Windows loading as normal, a menu should appear
4) Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode.

3. Once in Safe Mode, Run Ewido:
Click on scanner
Click on Complete System Scan and the scan will begin.
You will be prompted to clean the first infection.
Select "Perform action on all infections", then proceed.
Once the scan has completed, there will be a button located on the bottom of the screen named Save report
Click Save report.
Save the report .txt file to your desktop or a location where you can find it easily.
Close Ewido anti-malware.

Reboot into normal Windows and post the contents of Ewido log that you saved along with a fresh HiJackThis log. :)

Didn't I ask you to save it where you would easily find/remember it?

Make an Windows Search for report.txt

I need to see that Ewido log.

Download and run this uninstaller:

http://www.outerinfo.com/OiUninstaller.exe

Then delete this folder if present:

C:\Program Files\PurityScan

Empty recycle bin.

There's still some stuff there... After these steps, we'll remove any leftovers manually and then you'll need to update Java.

Please download Dr.Web CureIt (ftp://ftp.drweb.com/pub/drweb/cureit/drweb-cureit.exe) to the desktop:
Double-click the drweb-cureit.exe file and allow to run the Express scan.
This will scan the files currently running in memory and when something is found, click the YES button when it asks you if you want to cure it. This is only a short scan.
Once the short scan has finished, mark the drives that you want to scan.
Select all drives. A red dot shows which drives have been chosen.
Click the green arrow at the right, and the scan will start.
Click 'Yes to all' if it asks if you want to cure/move the file.
When the scan has finished, look if you can click next icon next to the files found: http://users.telenet.be/bluepatchy/miekiemoes/images/check.gif
If so, click it and then click the next icon right below and select Move incurable as you'll see in next image:

This will move it to the %userprofile%\DoctorWeb\quarantine-folder if it can't be cured. (this in case if we need samples)
After selecting, in the Dr.Web CureIt menu on top, click file and choose save report list
Save the report to your desktop. The report will be called DrWeb.csv
Close Dr.Web Cureit.
Reboot your computer!! Because it could be possible that files in use will be moved/deleted during reboot.
After reboot, post the contents of the log from Dr.Web you saved previously in your next reply. :)
