Hi everyone,

I hope this is in the right place, but if not then please move it accordingly. At any rate, the issue I have is that I some spyware I absolutely cannot get rid of, and while it will go inactive for a short while, it quickly returns a few days later. The biggest problem to date, in real terms, is that my Google search results are being hijacked.

From some of my own research into the problem, I realize my computer is infected with sofatnet.exe. It is located in the Windows/System32 folder -- I picked it up in a Hijack This! Analysis -- and I have tried to manually delete the file but the action is not allowed. After some more searching, I came across this thread (http://forums.spybot.info/showthread.php?t=51736) on this forum, and the advice there was to run DDS and then run GMER.

It also said to post the DDS and Attack reports, and they are attached in this thread. I tried to paste the GMER log as well, but it was so big the post exceeded the character limit, and when I tried to attach it like the other two reports, it exceeded the attachment size limit. Please let me know what I need to do with the GMER report.

Anyway, to close, thanks in advance for the replies, and again my apologies if this thread is in the wrong place.
