Just started today...
After an indiscriminant amount of time (5-15 minutes usually), if I click a program the program will lock up (go non responsive) and then every other program I had open will do the same thing. If I try running a virus scan with my Comodo, it freezes at 5% updating database and wont go further. Spybot search returned no immediate threats. Including HJT log, help appreciated.

Forgot to add, after I tried booting in safe-mode to try Comodo that way (which didnt work) and restarted in regular mode, I had an Internet Explorer icon on my desktop... I havent used IE in months.
another thing I just noticed (sorry I cant see how to Edit posts) my CPU usage is skyrocketing even on startup. I have 4gb ram, and even running Idle with no programs other than firefox its at 80% CPU usage and staying there.
