I think my brother's machine has been attacked again, Comodo internet security won't scan as well as difficulty with accessing the internet.

I regularly run spy bot and I started in Safe mode and ran spy bot and it detected nothing. I then uninstalled Comodo and reinstalled it.

I restarted in Safe mode with networking but could not get comodo to update or run. Back to spy bot and tried to update it but it could not access the internet. Went into a command prompt and tried to ping sites. while it resolved their ip address it could not get a response from pinging.

I then ran hijack (which is hopefully what you want but I am never able to find the instructions which tell me what I should initially do before creating a post so sorry if this is wrong) and here are its results. One of my problems is that it is wireless BB and I only have one cable into the IDU so am having to swap between my laptop and faulty machine.

you sure comodo is set up right, the firewall i mean.
Is not necessary to get a ICMP echo reply or ping to have connectivity.
check its configuration or uninstall it, reboot and check connectivity

I uninstalled comodo, got spybot to update and it ran fine with no problems. However after I reinstalled comodo it (comodo) would not update itself. Removed comodo again and tried AVG but while it installed it will only run in safe mode. Am now reviewing anti-virus packages to see what one should I moved to, will probably purchase norton. Am currently away at moment so won't be back to machine to fully fix it up for two weeks, hopefully my brother and nephew won't have it too zapped by time I get back to it. Thanks for your help assume you can't advise on an antivirus package but if you can let me know.
