View Full Version : Being re-directed pt2
Hi all,
Just recently everytime I click on a link from a search engine I am re-directed to a totally different webpage. If I use the back button and click on the same link I go to yet another site. After about the third or fourth attempt I eventually get where I want to go. I've done a spybot scan and deleted some tracking cookies but the problem still exists. I've also d/loaded hijackthis and run a scan/saved log but I haven't a clue what I'm looking at to be honest. Has anyone any ideas or suggestions ?

I've noticed a line in there called "KillandClean". It had somehow installed itself without me asking so I uninstalled it via add and remove. Also an entry for "games-fusion.net" as a start page :confused

Please download FixWareout from one of these sites:
http://downloads.subratam.org/Fixwareout.exe
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/files/lonny/Fixwareout.exe
Save it to your desktop and run it. Click Next, then Install, make sure "Run fixit" is checked and click Finish.
The fix will begin; follow the prompts.
You will be asked to reboot your computer; please do so.
Your system may take longer than usual to load; this is normal.
Once the desktop loads post the text that will open (report.txt) and a new Hijackthis log in the forum please.

Go ahead and run fixwareout again
Its shouldn't be necessary to run fix's in other accounts, not if this one has administrator privileges, unless there's a problem that only surfaces when in a particular account. Is your 12 year olds account limited ?
You might set it up so they have to use xp's guest account
Do install that hosts file i linked to earlier on, that will help tremendously

Manualy delete these file's at only these locations
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\DMNGB.EXE
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\DMYHQ.EXE
c:\WINDOWS\system32\kilacln.exe
Update suns java manualy
