Adding to Host

Sorry if this is a repeat. I tried searching, but the terms are so common that a lot of other thread show up. From the threads I did find I reached a conclusion, but just wanted to confirm.

Using Spybot there is no way to add individual websites to the host file. You can add it manually, but these get overwritten by Spybot every update. You can also use a third party type of software to edit the host file.

Is this accurate? I'd like to be able to block a few legitimate sites on my computer.
