Hi Friends...

am getting popups like: svchost application trying to send email.

when i investigated its malware with seres.exe and svchost.exe.
i find these files in C:\Users\user\AppData\Roaming

unable to delete these files as they are in use.

solution for this recommended on several sites is Spyware Doctor but when i install this am unable to update it.

Step #1
Please open HiJackThis and choose do a system scan only. Check the boxes next to ONLY the entries listed below:

Now close all windows other than HiJackThis, including browsers, so that nothing other than HijackThis is open, then click Fix Checked. A box will pop up asking you if you wish to fix the selected items. Please choose YES. Once it has fixed them, please exit/close HijackThis.

Reboot your computer.


Step #2
View Hidden Files & Folders Windows Vista
To view Hidden Files & Folders do the following:
Click Start
Open Computer
Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options
Select the View Tab
Under the Hidden files and folders heading select Show hidden files and folders
Uncheck the Hide protected operating system files (recommended) option
Click Yes to confirm
Click OK


Using Windows Explorer (to get there right-click your Start button and go to "Explore"), please delete these files (if present):

C:\Users\user\AppData\Roaming\seres.exe
C:\Users\user\AppData\Roaming\svcst.exe
C:\Documents and Settings\owner\Start Menu\Programs\Startup\ikowin32.exe


Step #3
Let's clean all temp files and scan with Mbam:

Please download ATF-cleaner (http://www.atribune.org/ccount/click.php?id=1) and save it to your desktop.
Double-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program.
Under Main choose: Select All
Click the Empty Selected button.

If you use Firefox browser:

Click Firefox at the top and choose: Select All
Click the Empty Selected button.
NOTE: If you would like to keep your saved passwords, please click No at the prompt.

If you use Opera browser:

Click Opera at the top and choose: Select All
Click the Empty Selected button.
NOTE: If you would like to keep your saved passwords, please click No at the prompt.

Click Exit on the Main menu to close the program.


Step #4
Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware
Download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware here (http://www.besttechie.net/tools/mbam-setup.exe) and save to your desktop.
Double-click mbam-setup.exe and follow the prompts to install the program.
At the end, be sure a checkmark is placed next to:
Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware
Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware
Then click Finish.
If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
Once the program has loaded, select Perform full scan, then click Scan.
When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
Be sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
When completed, a log will open in Notepad. Please copy and paste the log back into your next reply

Or via the Logs tab when Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware is started.
