I am going through the following = … something has invaded my computer, somehow it selected some email addresses from my hard-drive, and sent out a link to a website – as if it were from me. I heard back from many colleagues about it – most said luckily their security software caught it – but I had SENT NOTHING to any of these people – it was the invader that had… less than two days later it happened again, despite my running every security software I had on my laptop, including yours!!… then this intruder worm-trojan-whatever sent another different email with different send-to addresses and a different link… ran all the security software again including yours!!… no help at all! This keeps happening! A half dozen times now – always a partial group of emails from my computer and always a different link.
I am outraged by this… as well as fearful of another repeat… this is the fifth repeat… now everybody hates me and I did nothing… aarrgghh!!
If Spybot is not intended to do this – please don’t just say “Spybot doesn’t do this” but try to help me with advice or names of other products that might. You wouldn’t leave a choking man on the floor choking just because it wasn’t “what the product does” would you? Help!!

Hello dwightmlee,

Please see this forum's FAQ, "BEFORE you POST"(READ this Procedure BEFORE Requesting Assistance) (http://forums.spybot.info/showthread.php?t=288)

Then start a new topic providing the HJT log, and I will close this one as helpers look for threads without a response.

If HJT won't run please start a topic anyway, make note of the situation and wait for a response.

Best regards.

Hello

Welcome to Safer Networking.

Please read Before You Post (http://forums.spybot.info/showthread.php?t=288)
That said, All advice given by anyone volunteering here, is taken at your own risk.
While best efforts are made to assist in removing infections safely, unexpected stuff can happen.

Download Trendmicros Hijackthis (http://www.trendsecure.com/portal/en-US/_download/HJTInstall.exe) to your desktop.

Double click it to install
Follow the prompts and by default it will install in C:\Program Files\Trendmicro\Hijackthis\Highjackthis.exe
Open HJT Scan and Save a Log File, it will open in Notepad
Go to Format and make sure Wordwrap is Unchecked
Go to Edit> Select All.....Edit > Copy and Paste the new log into this thread by using the Submit Reply and not start a New Thread.

DO NOT have HijackThis fix anything yet. Most of what it finds will be harmless or even required.
