Hi,

Download the latest version of Kaspersky Virus Removal Tool (http://devbuilds.kaspersky-labs.com/devbuilds/AVPTool/)

* Close all other applications and double-click and run the installer.
* When AVPTool starts, select all the scanable items except for CD-ROM drives and click the Scan button.
* If malware is detected, don't remove anything.
* After the scan finishes, don't neutralize anything.
* In the Scan window click the Reports button and select Save to file.
* Name the report AVPT.txt, and save it to the Desktop.
* Close AVPTool.
* You will be prompted if you want to uninstall the program; click Yes.
* You will then be prompted that to complete the uninstallation, the computer must be restarted. Select Yes to restart the system.
* Copy and paste the first part of the report (Detected) that you saved in your next reply. Do not include the longer list marked Events.

Hi Blade,

Tried that, nothing happened

Let's try to create a few more logs.

Download DDS and save it to your desktop from here (http://www.techsupportforum.com/sectools/sUBs/dds) or here (http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/sUBs/dds.scr) or here (http://www.forospyware.com/sUBs/dds).
Disable any script blocker, and then double click dds.scr to run the tool.
When done, DDS will open two (2) logs:
DDS.txt
Attach.txt

Save both reports to your desktop. Post them back to your topic.

Download GMER (http://www.gmer.net) here by clicking download exe -button and then saving it your desktop:
Double-click .exe that you downloaded
Click rootkit-tab and then scan.
Don't check
Show All
box while scanning in progress!
When scanning is ready, click Copy.
This copies log to clipboard
Post log in your reply.

Please visit this webpage for download links, and instructions for running ComboFix tool:

http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/combofix/how-to-use-combofix

Please ensure you read this guide carefully first.

Please continue as follows:

Close/disable all anti virus and anti malware programs so they do not interfere with the running of ComboFix, link (http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic114351.html)
Remember to re-enable them afterwards.

Click Yes to allow ComboFix to continue scanning for malware.

When the tool is finished, it will produce a report for you.

Please include the following reports for further review, and so we may continue cleansing the system:

C:\ComboFix.txt
New dds.txt log.

A word of warning: Neither I nor sUBs are responsible for any damage you may have caused your machine by running ComboFix. This tool is not a toy and not for everyday use.

Hi Blade,

No luck again I'm afraid with Combo Fix, it downloaded ok, I followed the instructions but was unable to run it. It was unable to open about 6 files

Hi,

Please download exeHelper (http://www.raktor.net/exeHelper/exeHelper.com) to your desktop.
Double-click on exeHelper.com to run the fix.
A black window should pop up, press any key to close once the fix is completed.
Post the contents of exehelperlog.txt (Will be created in the directory where you ran exeHelper.com, and should open at the end of the scan)
Note: If the window shows a message that says "Error deleting file", please re-run the program before posting a log - and post the two logs together (they will both be in the one file).

Hi,

Are you able to run GMER or ComboFix now? If not, let me know if there're any error messages.

Hi Blade,

Again I'm afraid no luck with either, getting the same errors.

First with combofix, I'm getting the following

"Windows cannot find ‘32788R22FWJFW\iexplore.exe

Windows cannot find ‘32788R22FWJFW\hidec.exe

Windows cannot find ‘32788R22FWJFW\n.pif

Windows cannot find ‘32788R22FWJFW\hidec.ex"

This repeats over and over. For GMER, I've attached a jpeg,

Thanks

Hi,

Did you have AVG and other protection software disabled before trying ComboFix? If you did, please try again in safe mode.

Hi Blade,

I had both AVG and windows firewall turned off, when I tried to run combofix. I also tried running exehelper again, rebooting pc and running combofix and gmer again but got the same errors.

Thanks

One or more of the identified infections is a backdoor trojan.

This allows hackers to remotely control your computer, steal critical system information and Download and Execute files

I would counsel you to disconnect this PC from the Internet immediately. If you do any banking or other financial transactions on the PC or if it should contain any other sensitive information, please get to a known clean computer and change all passwords where applicable, and it would be wise to contact those same financial institutions to apprise them of your situation.

Though the Trojan has been identified and can be killed, because of it's backdoor functionality, your PC is very likely compromised and there is no way to be sure your computer can ever again be trusted. Many experts in the security community believe that once infected with this type of Trojan, the best course of action would be a reformat and reinstall of the OS. Please read these for more information:

How Do I Handle Possible Identify Theft, Internet Fraud and CC Fraud? (http://www.dslreports.com/faq/10451)
When Should I Format, How Should I Reinstall (http://www.dslreports.com/faq/10063)

However, if you do not have the resources to reinstall your computer and would like me to continue attempt to clean it, I will be happy to do so.
Should you have any questions, please feel free to ask.

Please let us know what you have decided to do in your next post.

spinmaster13
2009-10-24, 08:29
Thanks very much, did not think it was so serious. Will re format I think if I can find the XP disk that came with PC. Before that will change all passwords via secure pc.

Thanks again
