I ran Spybot 1.6.2 and it removed a lot of other bad stuffs from my PC. However, Fraud.WindowsProtectorSuite just won't go away. Please help.

ok. First make sure tea timer isnt active. Not sure how you disabled it but here is the way to do it;
1. Run Spybot-S&D in Advanced Mode.
2. If it is not already set to do this Go to the Mode menu select "Advanced Mode"
3. On the left hand side, Click on Tools
4. Then click on the Resident Icon in the List
5. Uncheck "Resident TeaTimer" and OK any prompts.
6. Restart your computer.
Next we wil use hjt:
start HJT, click the "Scan" button. check the items below, close any open windows, then click "Fixed checked"
Select All the 01 items in the log:

Next: check Malwarebytes for updates, scan and post the log:
Once the program has loaded, click the Update tab, then check for updates. select Scanner tab, Perform FULL SCAN, then click Scan.
When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
Be sure that everything is checked, and click *Remove Selected.*
*A restart of your computer most likely will be required to remove some items. If prompted, please restart your computer.*
When completed, a log will open in Notepad. Please save it to a convenient location. The log can also be opened by going to Start > All Programs > Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware > Logs > log-date.txt

Download HostXpert from here:

Extract it to your desktop. Double click the HostXpert.exe icon.
Click on 'Restore MS Hosts File' and press 'OK'
Exit Program.
Reboot computer and post a new HJT log please.
I am unable to run HostsXpert. I kept getting error "Cannot creat file".

First check malwarebytes for updates and scan with it:
click the MBAM icon on your desktop. Once the program has loaded, click the Update tab, then check for updates. Select Scanner tab, Perform FULL SCAN, then click Scan.
When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
Be sure that everything is checked, and click **Remove Selected.**
**A restart of your computer most likely will be required to remove some items. If prompted please chose yes to restart your computer.**
When completed, a log will open in Notepad. Please save it to a convenient location. The log can also be opened by going to Start > All Programs > Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware > Logs > log-date.txt
Post the log in your reply.
Make sure Spybots Tea Timer function is disabled:
1. Run Spybot-S&D in Advanced Mode.
2. If it is not already set to do this Go to the Mode menu select "Advanced Mode"
3. On the left hand side, Click on Tools
4. Then click on the Resident Icon in the List
5. Uncheck "Resident TeaTimer" and OK any prompts.
6. Restart your computer.
Next start HostXpert and click the very top button that shows the small lock icon, click it once then click 'restore MS hosts file' If you get a error click lock the button again then 'restore MS hosts file again, see if that works.
Next click on the backup/restore button and select Create backup. It should put a hostbak.bak file in the same folder with HostXpert.
Rename the .bak extension to .txt, You can then open it up and copy/paste the results in your reply. Then you can rename the file back to .bak
We can try editing it then restoring it.

I think everything is back to normal. Both Spybot and Malwarebytes came back clean. The Google search does not redirect to the wrong site any more. THANK YOU VERY MUCH for your help.

ok good. Your welcome. One last thing to do is make a new restore point. The how and the why:
One of the features of Windows XP,Vista and Windows7 is the System Restore option, however if malware infects a computer it is possible that the malware could be backed up in the System Restore archive. Therefore, clearing the restore points is a good idea after malware is removed and your computer appears to be functioning ok.
To reset your restore points, please note that you will need to log into your computer with an account which has full administrator access. You will know if the account has administrator access because you will be able to see the System Restore tab. If the tab is missing, you are logged in under a limited account.

1. Turn off System Restore. (deletes old possibly infected restore point)
On the Desktop, right-click My Computer.
Click Properties.
Click the System Restore tab.
Check Turn off System Restore.
Click Apply, and then click OK.
2. Reboot.
3. Turn ON System Restore.(creates a new restore points on a clean system)
On the Desktop, right-click My Computer.
Click Properties.
Click the System Restore tab.
UN-Check *Turn off System Restore*.
Click Apply, and then click OK, then reboot

10) Warez, cracks etc are very popular for carrying malware payloads. Avoid. If you install files via p2p (http://www.virusvault.us/p2p.html) networks then you are much more likely to encounter malicious code. Do you trust the source of the file? Do you really need another malware source?
