I am new to posting in these forums so please bear with me.
Problem:
Computer running sluggish
Antivius Pogram Icon showing in notification area of taskbar; along with mutiple popups to purchase said Antivirus. Porn Site popups.
b.exe showing in Processes in task manager
In the past when items such as these popups have occured Spybot S&D is the only program that would remove it.
What I Have Tried:
Installed Spybot S&D but will not run keep getting an error
searched these forums and tried various different ways to get it to run
none have worked as of yet.
Was able to run Lavasoft Adware but that proved to be pointless with this problem.
Tried HighjackThis but cannot run either same error as Spyot S&D
Was able to back up registry with ERUNT
Oh the error I get when trying to run either Spybot or HJT is as follows
Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. You may not have the approiate permission to access the item.
I am the only user on my computer, I have tried right clicking and choosing run as administrator from the desktop icon, in the start menu, and from inside the Programs folder all with the same results; the same error.
Computer:
Dell Inspiron 1501 Laptop
Windows Edition:
Windows Vista Home Basic
System:
Processor: Mobile AMD Sempron Processor 3500+ 1.80 GHz
Memory (RAM): 446MB
System Type: 32-bit Operating System
I think I have included everything. Any help is greatly appreciated.
