The problem i am having is with w.e.s. my antivirus software has been circumvented (Avira) Spybot sd will not fix because it says I do not have permission to access the registry. I have run HTJ as recomended I have been able to tie its hands by disabling the startup program. here is the hjt log.

My program manager when I use the shortcut keys does not come up. I downloaded a new virus scanner (Avast) and after I restarted my computer it performed the virus scan at the windows loading screen it said I was clean. When windows loaded everything was the same but avast was not loading when I clicked on the shortcut on the desktop.

Hi,

Please ensure you read this guide carefully and install the Recovery Console first.

The Windows Recovery Console will allow you to boot up into a special recovery (repair) mode. This allows us to more easily help you should your computer have a problem after an attempted removal of malware. It is a simple procedure that will only take a few moments of your time.

Once installed, you should see a blue screen prompt that says:

The Recovery Console was successfully installed.

Please continue as follows:

Close/disable all anti virus and anti malware programs so they do not interfere with the running of ComboFix, link (http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic114351.html)
Remember to re-enable them afterwards.

Click Yes to allow ComboFix to continue scanning for malware.

When the tool is finished, it will produce a report for you.

Please include the following reports for further review, and so we may continue cleansing the system:

A word of warning: Neither I nor sUBs are responsible for any damage you may have caused your machine by running ComboFix. This tool is not a toy and not for everyday use.

Generate an Uninstall List

* Open HijackThis
* Click on Open Misc Tools Section
* Click on Open Uninstall Manager
* Click on Save list
* Save it to your Desktop
* Post it on your next reply.
