Did Something happen?

:sad:I have 1.6.2.46. It runs fine. I checked for updates on 11/13/09 and found quite a few including what seemed to be a major program update. Since the update, my computer hangs or freezes. It could hang while on the Internet. It even hung at startup in "SETTING UP NETWORK PREFERENCES". I restored my computer to several days ago and I have not had 1 freeze problem. I'm scared of Spybot now. Sorry if I didn't put this post in the correct place. I just registered a few minutes ago...

Sorry to hear of your problems. Since you mentioned say your computer hangs at the 'SETTING UP NETWORK PREFERENCES' message and when browsing the web, I have a feeling the problem may be caused by the immunisation feature of Spybot.

My advice to you would be to try updating again, but don't perform an immunisation on your system and see if you still experience performance problems.
