Dear All,
I hope you can help me i'm having some issues with google where it keeps redirecting me. I have downloaded Spybot and run it and it find a few things some of which it fixes but the two below it cannot which i think are the ones that are giving me the problem:

1: Microsoft.windows.redirected.hosts.
2:Fraud.windowsprotectionsuite.

It states "unexpected error in fixing problems cannot creat file. C:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts. I have run the programme in safe mode and the same happens.

I have downloaded Hijackthis and when it starts it says
"for some reson denied write access to host file. If any hijacked domains.......
If then continues and gives me the log below:

Rob,

Welcome to the forum.

Malwarebytes should have removed windowsprotectionsuite, are you sure you updated it before you ran the scan, although I don't see it on your log.

Disable the TeaTimer, leave it disabled, do not turn it back on until we're done or it will prevent fixes from taking

Run Spybot-S&D in Advanced Mode.
If it is not already set to do this Go to the Mode menu select "Advanced Mode"
On the left hand side, Click on Tools
Then click on the Resident Icon in the List
Uncheck "Resident TeaTimer" and OK any prompts.
Restart your computer.<--You need to do this for it to take effect

Download HostsXpert, but don't run it yet

Download the HostsXpert 4.2.0.0. - Hosts File Manager (http://www.funkytoad.com/download/HostsXpert.zip).

Unzip HostsXpert 4.3 - Hosts File Manager to a convenient folder such as C:\HostsXpert
Click HostsXpert.exe to Run HostsXpert - Hosts File Manager from its new home
Click "Make Hosts Writable?" in the upper right corner (If available).
Click Restore Microsoft's Hosts file and then click OK.
Click the X to exit the program.
Note: If you were using a custom Hosts file you will need to replace any of those entries yourself.

Please download OTM (http://oldtimer.geekstogo.com/OTM.exe) by OldTimer.

Save it to your desktop.
Please click OTM and then click >> run.
Copy the lines inside the codebox below to the clipboard by highlighting ALL of them and pressing CTRL + C (or, after highlighting, right-click and choose Copy):

:Processes
explorer.exe

:Services

:Reg

:Files
c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts

:Commands
[purity]
[emptytemp]
[start explorer]
[Reboot]

Return to OTM, right click in the "Paste Instructions for items to be Moved" window (under the yellow bar) and choose Paste.
Click the red Moveit! button.
Copy everything in the Results window (under the green bar) to the clipboard by highlighting ALL of them and pressing CTRL + C (or, after highlighting, right-click and choose copy), and paste it in your next reply.
Close OTM

Note: If an item cannot be moved immediately you may be asked to reboot the machine to finish the move process. If you are asked to reboot the machine choose Yes. In this case, after the reboot, open Notepad (Start->All Programs->Accessories->Notepad), click File->Open, in the File Name box enter *.log and press the Enter key, navigate to the C:\_OTM\MovedFiles folder, and open the newest .log file present, and copy/paste the contents of that document back here in your next post.

Now run HostsXpert , when you click on Restore Microsofts Hosts File, you will get a message stating that the hosts file does not exist, do you want to create one.....SAY YES

Reboot your system, open Malwarebytes, check for updates and run the Quick Scan, post the log and a new HJT log and let me know if this helped?
