Greetings. Running XP, and startup takes forever. Gmail is the "homepage" and, whether connected to the internet or not, it seems to invite lockups. I dont' know if you can help, but if so here's the HJT log:

What your explaining could be malware or it also could be some programs or hardware on your system conflicting. Lets check and if no malware I can direct you to a windows support site to help you.



Download TFC (http://oldtimer.geekstogo.com/TFC.exe) to your desktop

Close any open windows.
Double click the TFC icon to run the program
TFC will close all open programs itself in order to run,
Click the Start button to begin the process.
Allow TFC to run uninterrupted.
The program should not take long to finish it's job
Once its finished it should automatically reboot your machine,
if it doesn't, manually reboot to ensure a complete clean






Download DDS by sUBs from one of the following links. Save it to your desktop.

DDS.pif (http://www.forospyware.com/sUBs/dds)

Double click on the DDS icon, allow it to run.
A small box will open, with an explaination about the tool. No input is needed, the scan is running.
Notepad will open with the results, click no to the Optional_Scan
Follow the instructions that pop up for posting the results.
Close the program window, and delete the program from your desktop.

Please note: You may have to disable any script protection running if the scan fails to run. After downloading the tool, disconnect from the internet and disable all antivirus protection. Run the scan, enable your A/V and reconnect to the internet.
