I am very frustrated so excuse me if I come across as such, I will try to tell you in a nice way what looks like an insurmountable problem....
Trend Micro found a trojan on 4-24-06 and results were noted as 'quarantine fail'. Have been in contact with their support and they have done nothing that's been able to take it off. I am a futures trader and CANNOT have my computer's functions impaired so that is why I consider this critical. Yest. for the first time I could not access my trading acct. and I could tell from various other signs that this crazy virus has been putting the squeeze on my comp. Following is a copy of my HJT log. Thanks so much!

Hey eagle, I don't know how to have HijackThis fix what you recommended. When i open the program there are no results displayed. I have the log filed in a seperate folder on my desktop. Does that make sense? I'm not very computer literate so excuse my ignorance.

Now for my next problem (since I posted my first message). I tried to enter in safe mode, before I got your reply, and it would not boot in safe mode and it said something about having keys to delete. So I figured it must be something spybot found although it did not say so and I went ahead and deleted it and now I am in BIG trouble. Still can't start in safe mode and spybot sent two dif messages stating it detected registry changes and Windows sends me a message saying there's been a critical error. I'm shaking in my shoes and feel like a monster has taken over my computer. Is there any way I can get 'live' help? My phone number is 573-897-3733. If not, I will try to do this by email. Thank you.

eagle,

I did figure out how to do the HiJackThis fix but a window from Spybot pops up and says "registry change denied from resident" and a few said category system start-up user entry and a few said category browser page, (along with the message, "registry change denied".

Also, I finally managed to start the computer in safe mode...should I go ahead with the second set of directions before I get the HiJackThis to fix the entries you selected?

Awaiting your reply!

Thanks a bunch~

Can you scan with hijackthis again and post a new log.

Anniegirl

Don't know if it actually did a scan, it took all of 3 seconds and it was all displayed in the window and when I compared it with the first scan it looks to be identical. Don't know what else to try. Did it three times and the same thing every time.

You wanted the computers behavior...due to being a trader I have to be online 4 hours solid and it takes about 2 & 1/2 hours into it that a countdown begins from 10 - 0 then this crazy, 1 & 1/2 inch, colored box jumps across the screen with a teacup in the center and the words "look here". It will continue to run horizontally across the screen till you shut down. It does so whether online or not. Also, the screensaver pic is periodically black and white. Seems to come and go at a whim. The computer is incredibly slow. One more strange thing ...the last time I defragmented I had a whole bar and a half a solid red, meaning still hugely fragmented, inspite of the results stating the defragmenting was successful. Hope this helps.

Open Spybot Mode | Advanced
Tools | Resident and untick the box for TeaTimer to disable it.
Exit Spybot.
In the Windows system tray, if the TeaTimer icon is still present, right click it and exit the TeaTimer.
Please leave it disabled until we are finished fixing your machine. At which time you may restart TeaTimer.
