I recently wiped my hard drive and reloaded the OS. However, I did have to download a few additional drivers from the PC website to download it all, as the back CDs were corrupted. Anyway, now I realize that although Windows is up and running, my Microsoft Suite that came with the PC is not. Can anyone recommend a place I can safely download an older copy, even Suite 2006, for free?

I tried CNET, but it keeps booting me back to the Microsoft Website, even for Suite 2006, which they don't sell any longer. And considering I just want the older version I already paid for, I would rather not pay for it. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

Most likely you would need the product key to get a replacement:

Not sure what your suite included but here are two alternatives:

OpenOffice (http://www.openoffice.org/)
StarOffice (http://www.sun.com/software/staroffice/)

THANK YOU!

Most of the time, my problems are rather simple but I just can't figure it out myself. I only use the Works features of spreadsheet, labels and the word processor. Not too much or too complicated.

I got the product key from the back of my harddrive, and I'm not sure Microsoft can even help me, but I plan on contacting them anyway. Meanwhile, should that not pan out, the alternatives you suggested look great! I really appreciate the help. Thanks again!
