I wanted to thank you in advance for your help. I am incredibly frustrated and have tried just about everything I can think of to remedy my problem. My browser is redirecting when I use search engines. I cannot boot my computer normally and must boot in Safe Mode. When I try to boot my computer normally, I have a black background and the only thing on my screen is an alert that reads "Windows Explorer has stopped working and has closed."
Also, there are NO system restore points on my system as I tried turning off system restore at someone's suggestion of doing so.
When booting in Safe Mode, this is my HijackThis log. Anytime I try to delete vabofoka/kbdsock.dll, it just comes right back, usually just as vabofoka.dll.

You have a password stealer on your system, you should go to known clean computer and change all your passwords , especially if you do online banking or shopping.


Open HijackThis > Do a System Scan Only, close your browser and all open windows including this one, the only program or window you should have open is HijackThis, check the following entries and click on Fix Checked.

O3 - Toolbar: DAEMON Tools Toolbar - {32099AAC-C132-4136-9E9A-4E364A424E17} - (no file)

O20 - AppInit_DLLs: C:\Windows\system32\kbdsock.dll,vabofoka.dll

O23 - Service: fastnetsrv Service (fastnetsrv) - Netopsystems A - C:\Windows\system32\FastNetSrv.exe

Go to your Programs and Features in the Control Panel and uninstall Viewpoint, it installs without your knowledge or consent, is considered Adware, uses system resources and is not needed for anything.




Open notepad and then copy and paste the bolded lines below into Notepad.

Go to File > save as and name the file fixes.bat.
Change the Save as type to all files and save it to your desktop.
Double-click on fixes.bat file to execute it.

Reboot for it to take effect






Please download Malwarebytes from Here (http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam-download.php) or Here (http://www.majorgeeks.com/Malwarebytes_Anti-Malware_d5756.html)


Double-click mbam-setup.exe and follow the prompts to install the program.
At the end, be sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
Once the program has loaded, select Perform quick scan, then click Scan.

When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
Be sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected .
When completed, a log will open in Notepad. Please save it to a convenient location and post the results.
Note: If you receive a notice that some of the items couldn't be removed, that they have been added to the delete on reboot list, please reboot.
Post the report and also a new HJT log please

Hello,

I wanted to say thank you very much for your reply. However, when I tried to turn on my computer today to take your advice, my computer is unable to turn on altogether. When I try to boot up, it continually tries to check my startup for errors, but it never finds anything, then my computer shuts down. I feel that I am unfortunately going to have to reformat most likely, but it will be difficult as I am without a CD drive (it's broken).

I took your advice and changed all the passwords I use for online banking/e-mail etc. I apologize that I am unable to use anything you gave me. Hopefully I'll be able to wipe my hard drive somehow. It's going to be a real pain.

Since my computer seems to be completely helpless and shot, I guess this thread can be closed.

Hello,

Sorry your having so many problems. You can try booting to the last known good configuration that worked the last time your compute booted up.

To Access Last Known Good

Go to Start> Shut off your Computer> Restart
As the computer starts to boot-up, Tap the F8 KEY somewhat rapidly,
this will bring up a menu.
Use the Up and Down Arrow Keys to scroll up to Last Known Good
Then press the Enter Key on your Keyboard

You can buy an external CD Rom drive that will connect to a USB port, I don't think there to expensive.


Why don't you post here at our sister site for windows issues, I will keep this thread open for you and if they get you up and running post back here and we will recheck for malware.
