If I'm a professional computer tech am I allowed to use Spybot S&D on customers' computers? I wouldn't install it on their computer - I'd run it from a thumb drive.

But this also brings up the question, am I allowed to recommend Spybot to my customers and install it for them so long as I have them read the EULA and they agree to it (and of course I'm not charging them for the software)?

Thanks :)

Hello,

Spybot - Search & Destroy is only free for private use.
If you want to use Spybot-S&D in your company you need to purchase a license.
This is the link for the corporate use and version of Spybot - Search & Destroy:

Thanks you for your reply :)

Here is where I'm confused...

The licensing on that page calls for a minimum of 5 nodes. The computers I use for my business would not have spybot installed on them (I don't get spyware because I know better). The only place it would be installed is on a USB thumb drive and would be run on the customers' computers only.

Would this mean I would have to purchase licensing for each customer's computer, just purchase the minimum 5 node license, get a custom quote for something like this, or not use it at all for this purpose because its simply not licensed for "non-in-house" use?

Thanks :)

(I hope I asked that right...)

Hello,

You will need a Service License that enables you to use our software
from a removable memory device without installation on clients machines.
You will pay for the number of machines you clean with Spybot.

Oh ok, Thanks again :)

Is there a price list for service licensing somewhere? I didn't see it on the price list page.

Thanks :)
