View Full Version : Removal of siszyd32.exe

I am having a problem with an infection on my laptop, have tried to remove siszyd32.exe using windows defender and disable at startup using msconfig but it comes back.
It seems when you do this it aggravates the program bringing up a startup change and then forces a restart to initiate the change.

I use Mcafee anti-virus and firewall, adaware for spyware removal and windows dfender for realtime spyware detection and the process viewer.

Would appreciate any help.

Here is a copy of my HJT logfile:

Hi peku, thanks for responding.

I've pasted the RSIT logs below. Please note i have made some changes since first post in an attempt to do a spot of cleaning so original hijack this log is no longer valid.
I think most of the malware is gone but bitdefender still picks up Gen:Trojan.Heur.Vundo.cq8@bSBo85ob in a file called uinme40.dll (windows directory).

Just a bit of an update.
Malware became active again over the weekend after being quiet for a few days. Noticed a slow down in system and network speed and the dial-up connection box appearing. (after I used laptop switch to turnoff wireless connection).

Hi gmcraib

think it has deleted a few legit files?
including pics of hot laydees!
why they are in system32 folder ?
we can restore them all, finally, if you need them

1 - Run CFScript

Open notepad and copy/paste the text in the codebox below into it:

File::
c:\windows\uinme40.dll

Registry::
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\system\currentcontrolset\control\lsa]
Notification Packages REG_MULTI_SZ scecli scecli

Save this as "CFScript"

Then drag the CFScript into ComboFix.exe as you see in the screenshot below.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v666/sUBs/CFScriptB-4.gif

This will start ComboFix again. After reboot, (in case it asks to reboot), post the contents of Combofix.txt in your next reply together with a new HijackThis log.

Combofix should never take more that 20 minutes including the reboot if malware is detected.
If it does, open Task Manager then Processes tab (press ctrl, alt and del at the same time) and end any processes of findstr, find, sed or swreg, then combofix should continue.
If that happened we want to know, and also what process you had to end.

2 - Status Check
Please reply with

1. the ComboFix log(C:\ComboFix.txt)

Thanks peku006

Ok thanks, will do that.

Why are they in system 32 folder?
Women don't think to look in system folders..... ;)

Hi gmcraib

Women don't think to look in system folders.....
great explanation..........I need to remember it in the future :D:

1 - Download and Run Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware

Please save any items you were working on... close any open programs. You may be asked to reboot your machine.
Please download Malwarebytes Anti-Malware (http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam-download.php) and save it to your desktop. If needed...Tutorial w/screenshots (http://thespykiller.co.uk/index.php/topic,5946.0.html)
Alternate download sites available here (http://www.majorgeeks.com/Malwarebytes_Anti-Malware_d5756.html) or here (http://www.besttechie.net/tools/mbam-setup.exe).
Make sure you are connected to the Internet.
Double-click on mbam-setup.exe to install the application.
When the installation begins, follow the prompts and do not make any changes to default settings.
When installation has finished, make sure you leave both of these checked:
Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware
Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware
Then click Finish.MBAM will automatically start and you will be asked to update the program before performing a scan.
If an update is found, the program will automatically update itself.
Press the OK button to close that box and continue.
Problems downloading the updates? Manually download them from here (http://malwarebytes.gt500.org/mbam-rules.exe) and double-click on "mbam-rules.exe" to install.
On the Scanner tab:
Make sure the "Perform full scan" option is selected.
Then click on the Scan button.
If asked to select the drives to scan, leave all the drives selected and click on the Start Scan button.
The scan will begin and "Scan in progress" will show at the top. It may take some time to complete so please be patient.
When the scan is finished, a message box will say "The scan completed successfully. Click 'Show Results' to display all objects found".
Click OK to close the message box and continue with the removal process.
Back at the main Scanner screen:
Click on the Show Results button to see a list of any malware that was found.
Check all items except items in the C:\System Volume Information folder... then click on Remove Selected.
We will take care of the System Volume Information items later.
When removal is completed, a log report will open in Notepad and you may be prompted to restart your computer. (see Note below)
The log is automatically saved and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM.
The log can also be found here:
C:\Documents and Settings\Username\Application Data\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\Logs\mbam-log-date (time).txt
Copy and paste the contents of that report in your next reply and exit MBAM.

Note: If MBAM encounters a file that is difficult to remove, you will be presented with 1 of 2 prompts.
Click OK to either and let MBAM proceed with the disinfection process.
If asked to restart the computer, please do so immediately. Failure to reboot will prevent MBAM from removing all the malware.

2 - Status Check
Please reply with

the Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware Log
