Err...I'm not trying to be rude..I just hope that someone out here can help me fix this problem I'm having. It's infected my IE and is really annoying. Plus I have to make sure that my computer is 'clean' before updating Windows.

Thanks a million

Ok...now there's this pop-up(which i wil post below) which appears as soon as hxxp://www.sysprotectionpage.com/ page is loaded. and when i click "OK", it links me to hxxp://malwarewipe.com/?rid=248. Any ideas??:(

Pop-up:
Warning!

(W32.Myzor.FK@yf) is a virus that infects files with .exe extensions. It attempts to steal passwords and private information from the infected computer.

Type: Virus
Infection Length: 138,293 bytes
Systems Affected: Windows 95, 98, ME, NT (all versions), 2003, Windows XP (all service packs)
Systems Not Affected: DOS, EPOC, Linux, Macintosh, Novell Netware, OS/2, UNIX
Technical details: 1. Creates files in %Windir%\ directory. By default, this is C:\Windows.
2. Adds values to registry keys:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVision\Run
3. Scans the hard drive for .exe files and infects any executable files.
Searches for passwords/information, which it may send to a remote attacker.
Recommendations: Click “OK” to download officially approved security software.
Always keep your patch levels up-to-date.

The other thing is that whenever my computer is started and the desktop just loads, the sys32 folder will open by itself. I find it kinda disturbing.

Hi
Fallow the instructions here about what programs to run while the PC is in safe mode and which logs to post afterwards

Thanks a lot for that information!! However, I haven't been able to do as told yet. This is because I'll be going away for 3 weeks and won't have my computer with me. I would like to request that this thread not be deleted as I would definitely want to follow-up with the instructions.

Thank you for your help and understanding.
