Started to get Generic Host Processor Error followed by DCOM Processor Error. This happens only when machine connected to internet.

Prior to this IE7 being redirected on Google or Yahoo searches.

Downloaded S&D which detected some things including Koobface and cleaned. However it dectect AORNUM but does not clear.

Just changed from AVG ver 8+ to Avasti and Spyterminator. They find nothing and neither does MBAM, Super AntiSpy, or ADaware

See HJT Log.

Any help is greatly appreciated

Hi,

Download DDS and save it to your desktop from here (http://www.techsupportforum.com/sectools/sUBs/dds) or here (http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/sUBs/dds.scr) or here (http://www.forospyware.com/sUBs/dds).
Disable any script blocker, and then double click dds.scr to run the tool.
When done, DDS will open two (2) logs:
DDS.txt
Attach.txt

Save both reports to your desktop. Post them back to your topic.

Download GMER (http://www.gmer.net) here by clicking download exe -button and then saving it your desktop:
Double-click .exe that you downloaded
Click rootkit-tab and then scan.
Don't check
Show All
box while scanning in progress!
When scanning is ready, click Copy.
This copies log to clipboard
Post log (if the log is long, archive it into a zip file and attach instead of posting) in your reply.

Blade81 - Thank you for your reply.

However, just after I posted, I was running a scan and got hit with a transient power outage. This caused the computer to cycle through the BIOS never trying to load from any device.

Fortunately, Dell has a separate diagnostic partition which would start, and it showed no hardware failures.

Solution was to take out the battery to clear CMOS, and then do a Repair install with Win XP.

Recovered everything, and all problems are gone.

Thanks again,

This Web Site is extremely helpful.
