Download Scan

Hi,
I am downloading a .MP3 file from a British music site. I use Firefox as my browser. FF is instructed to ask me what program to use when the download completes. I choose Winamp.
Spybot then scans the file and finds no errors. However, control is not passed to Winamp - nothing happens after the spybot scan.
How do I fix this?

Have you attempted to save the file directly to your desktop?

Then, right click on the .mp3 file>Open With>Choose Program>Winamp and also be sure to check "Always open this file with this program".

I changed the Firefox Application option from "Winamp" to "Ask me every time"
Then, I chose save to disk. Spybot did scan the file. I went to the saved location (Downloads) and opened the file with Winamp. That works but it is clumsy. I would rather have Spybot scan the file and pass control
directly to Winamp. I will double check to see if i have "Always open this file with this program" checked.

When I checked "Always open this file with this program" I did get the desired results
