Hi guys,

I've been having a bit of a problem over the past few weeks. It seems that a friend of mine tried to "fix" my then unbroken computer by installing a bunch of garbage on it, and apparently had installed a bunch of spyware on it. I've deleted all the crap he put on it, most of it being pirated software or cracks of some sort that are either entirely useless to me or inexpensive enough that if I really needed them I would just throw the money at them. I tried to fix this problem on my own, and googled as much of the solution as I could. Strangely enough, one program keeps appearing in my Add/Remove Programs list: Yazzle by OIN. The first time I tried to uninstall it a window popped up prompting me to type in a verification code depicted in a picture above the input field (similar to the verification methods used by some forums and web based email signups). I went through and uninstalled it however it reappears every time I start Windows and further uninstall attempts do not pull up the same verification window, ran Spybot S&D and removed a slew of spyware, and also ran eTrust Antivirus(both engines). Windows Defender picked up next to nothing, with the exception of a few changes to the windows startup. These I recognized immediately as items I had not installed myself, and so I blocked all of them. Also, upon further uninstallation attempts, CA eTrust picks up a trojan as soon as I run the uninstall. I am normally fairly computer savvy, and usually don't ask for help, but I am afraid I might further harm my machine if I continue on my own. Thanks a lot in advance. Here is my HiJack this log:

Hello and welcome to the forum. You have a marker for the Smitfraud trojan. A couple of other things first.

1) You are running HJT from a Temp folder, that is not safe as we will have no backups if we need them in an emergency. I prefer you move HJT here: C:\HJT\HijackThis.exe. If you need more instructions use these:

2) This program: FlashGet <<< read this: http://www.castlecops.com/clsid-927.html so you get Cydoor adware unless you register, what a piece of junk. I suggest you get rid of that garbage.

3) Yazzle by OIN sounds like the old PurityScan adware with a new coat of paint on it, I do not see it in the log. What I would like you to do is go here: Start > Control Panel > Add Remove programs. Look for Yazzle/OIN/PurityScan and anything else you know does not belong there and uninstall it. If you are unsure about anything, let me know and I will look.

4) Java has just updated and a lot of bad junk has been getting in through unpatched Java. As soon as time permits, update that program.

Ok, I've done everything except uninstall flashget, simply because I paid for and registered it. I haven't had problems with it since then. Deleted the old Java and installed the latest version, and moved HiJack This to C:\HJT
