Possible virus/malware...thanks for this site.

I was working Thursday and a virus scan popped up on my screen. I knew it wasn't legit and began saving my work asap and shutting down. It wouldn't let me Ctrl-alt-del to get into Task Manager to see what was running...it kept closing it. So i jotted down the time, shut the computer down, then booted back up and did a file search by the time it started, looking for files created at that time. I searched for the files that were just created and e.exe was one of them. I kept what i thought was legit and deleted what i thought was connected to it.

Now, i've got three situations. One, IE isn't working, but i use Firefox and it is. Automatic updates will work, but IE says...

"Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage." or "That address is not valid."

Also, my machine will shut down without notice and strangely, my mouse is buggy. The scroll will no longer work. It's a mouse+pen+wacom tablet.

I have backed up with Erunt and here's my Hijackthis log.

I really appreciate the community that exists like this to assist non techies like myself get out of situations we've obviously put ourselves in.

Hi,

Download DDS and save it to your desktop from here (http://www.techsupportforum.com/sectools/sUBs/dds) or here (http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/sUBs/dds.scr) or here (http://www.forospyware.com/sUBs/dds).
Disable any script blocker, and then double click dds.scr to run the tool.
When done, DDS will open two (2) logs:
DDS.txt
Attach.txt

Save both reports to your desktop. Post them back to your topic.


Download GMER (http://www.gmer.net) here by clicking download exe -button and then saving it your desktop:
Double-click .exe that you downloaded
Click rootkit-tab and then scan.

Show All
box while scanning in progress!
When scanning is ready, click Copy.
This copies log to clipboard
