Hi,

Download DDS and save it to your desktop from here (http://www.techsupportforum.com/sectools/sUBs/dds) or here (http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/sUBs/dds.scr) or here (http://www.forospyware.com/sUBs/dds).
Disable any script blocker, and then double click dds.scr to run the tool.
When done, DDS will open two (2) logs:
DDS.txt
Attach.txt

Save both reports to your desktop. Post them back to your topic.

Download GMER (http://www.gmer.net) here by clicking download exe -button and then saving it your desktop:
Double-click .exe that you downloaded
Click rootkit-tab and then scan.
Don't check
Show All
box while scanning in progress!
When scanning is ready, click Copy.
This copies log to clipboard
Post log (if the log is long, archive it into a zip file and attach instead of posting) in your reply.

My antivirus software ran a boottime scan and a problem was found. It was taken care of but would still like to see if anything else is wrong.

Hi,

Some things to note there.

You have currently both COMODO Internet Security and Norton Internet Security installed there. It's recommended to have one antivirus program installed only.

Also, there're some outdated and vulnerable programs there. Run Secunia vulnerability check here (http://secunia.com/vulnerability_scanning/online/) and fix its findings.

Otherwise looks ok :)

I looked at the uninstall list via control panel, and found nothing that has to do with Norton.

Ok. Please download and run this (http://service1.symantec.com/Support/tsgeninfo.nsf/docid/2005033108162039) Norton removal tool. That should remove remnants.

It worked,

Thanks for your help!

You're welcome! Now just update the vulnerable software and then it should be all done :)
