In researching this problem, someone referred me to Spybot. Has anyone had any luck with this problem using SB?

:laugh: I don't think Spybot-Search&Destroy deals with game "glitches" or games itself, but feel free to ask questions. We're here to answer them.
What OS are you running the game on? Has there been any results from a Spybot scan (assuming you have the latest version and definition updates)?
