Hi folks,
I recently started using a new computer and about a week I had an issue where if I tried to open IE (home page Google) I got a message or a popup for XP Guardian Firewall Alert, saying it has blocked a tracking application or keylogger. I also had popups that showed it doing a system scan and finding issues. From the system tray I see popups for various Security Threats.
I do have McAfee installed and have done a full scan but it finds nothing. Last week I installed and ran Spybot S&D and it found a number of issues and after fixing those and rebooting, everything was back to normal. A week later some of those same popups have returned. I do currently have uTorrent installed, but only put that on today, so last week it was not part of the problem, though I may be removing that today just in case.
I've reran Spybot today and it again found some issues, but this time the messages keep appearing. It is affecting my IE, but for some reason not Firefox.
Any suggestions from anyone on what to try next?
Regards,
Sam
