View Full Version : TeaTimer Went Crazy During Facebook

Last night I was chatting on Facebook with my adopted sis...when all of a sudden TeaTimer started going crazy. I've never had that happen before...and I don't use any of the special little "aplications" on FB that have been famous in the past for virus problems.

This morning TeaTimer did again at startup for 15 minutes. I finally killed it in Task Manager.

The Startup issue has been happening just since the last round of updates.

I DID notice in my Temp Folder this morning a "jusched" log for JavaFX. I can't find ANY "JavaFX" files on my computer anywhere.

Any of you have problems on Facebook lately....or long TeaTimer problems at Startup?

No,I haven't.
Could you rightclick Teatimer, select Show Log,then copy and paste it here?

Thank you for taking the time to reply.

Just where am I supposed to "Right Click"?

I don't have a Desktop Icon for it....and I tried to do that with the "exe"....nothing showed as far as a "log".

Sorry...not used to doing much of anything with the Application...as I've never had any problems over the years until recently. :red:

Hi rivermandave,

I think Zenobia was referring to the Teatimer icon in your system tray (http://kb.iu.edu/data/aiat.html). :bigthumb:

I don't have a TeaTimer icon there either....just the SpyBot-SD Resident :spider:

I did Right Click on that though....but there's only one entry in there...for today :red:

Oh I see where's there been a misunderstanding! Spybot-S&D resident aka Teatimer (http://www.safer-networking.org/en/faq/35.html). :clown:

For clarity, when you say the resident Teatimer went "crazy", what do you exactly mean?

The TeaTimer.exe that shows in Task Manager.

It's separate from the SpyBotSD.exe that shows when you initiate the actual Application (as I sure you know)

BTW....I have found several "Logs" that are in my "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users.WINDOWS\Application Data\Spybot - Search & Destroy\Logs" folder....I'd upload a screenshot of what's there...but I don't see that as an option on here.

Could you please answer this question, rivermandave?

Sorry it's taken me so long to respond....unexpectedly had to go out of town....no Internet access there

When I said it goes "crazy"....what happened was that during the Startup process...once I got to the Desktop....I always bring up my Task Manager. And there I see TeaTimer taking up to 97% in the CPU column...and it will do that for up to 10 minutes straight.

THe same thing happened when I was on Facebook the other evening....it just started using massive CPU percentage for some reason. THat has been the only time that it has ever happened while I was on Facebook.

Ok,gotcha.(I thought when you said Teatimer went crazy, that you were getting a bunch of pop-ups from teatimer.)

I'm not sure why that would happen while you're on Facebook, but maybe it was just a coincidence.

This post might help explain, though it's a bit older:

hth. :)

As for jusched.log, that should be the log for the Java Update scheduler.

I also have the logfile in my temp folder, and it's contents mention JavaFX,here's just a snip:
