Hello there, I'm almost sure I'm spyware/malware free as I've certainly never had problems before, but lately in my HijackThis logs I have noticed the boldened 'O20 - AppInit_DLLs: avgrssta.dll' appearing in my logs, when it never did before. It seems to relate to AVG (which I use). If I look at the log in HijackThis as opposed to the text log it points to the Windows (Vista x64) system32 folder, and it's also in the AppInit_DLLs registry location.

I'm almost certain it just relates to AVG and is nothing malicious, but I thought it weird for it to pop up by random as it never appeared in the list in the past. Could anybody shed any light on it? I can't really find much information on the file - avgrsstx.dll is the one that keeps cropping up online instead whenever I search for it.

Here's the log, anyway. Some entries there probably need cleaning up (Java, no name file, etc) but aside from the boldened all seems okay:

Hi,

Yes, that dll is related to AVG and is not malicious :)

Run Secunia vulnerability check here (http://secunia.com/vulnerability_scanning/online/) and fix its findings.
