The following instructions have been created to help you to get rid of "Fraud.ContentCleaner" manually.
Use this guide at your own risk; software should usually be better suited to remove malware, since it is able to look deeper.

Description:
Fraud.ContentCleaner claims to be an antispyware tool. When it is installed to the computer it finds a lot of harmless entries in order to frighten the user and make him buy a license to get the issue fixed.
Removal Instructions:

Files:

Please use Windows Explorer or another file manager of your choice to locate and delete these files.

The file at "<$DESKTOP>\Content Cleaner.lnk".
The file at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\Content Cleaner\aff.txt".
The file at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\Content Cleaner\cc.lnk".
The file at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\Content Cleaner\CCleaner.dll".
The file at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\Content Cleaner\ContentCleaner.exe".
The file at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\Content Cleaner\infected.wav".
The file at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\Content Cleaner\new_Delete_animated.gif".
The file at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\Content Cleaner\RegAlert.exe".
The file at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\Content Cleaner\uninst.exe".
The file at "<$PROGRAMS>\Content Cleaner\Content Cleaner.lnk".
The file at "<$PROGRAMS>\Content Cleaner\Uninstall.lnk".
Make sure you set your file manager to display hidden and system files. If Fraud.ContentCleaner uses rootkit technologies, use our RootAlyzer (http://forums.spybot.info/downloads.php?id=8) or our Total Commander anti-rootkit plugins (http://forums.spybot.info/downloads.php?id=3).
You will have to use a global search for files without a name specified. Be extra careful, because just the name might not be enough to identify files!

Folders:

The directory at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\Content Cleaner".
The directory at "<$PROGRAMS>\Content Cleaner".

Delete the registry key "content cleaner" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\".
Delete the registry key "ContentCleaner" at "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\".
