Hi,

I would like to report a small bug in your program.

It seems that File Shredder will automatically include ALL text (.txt) files when searching for Internet Explorer cookie files.

This is bothersome, as I have legit text files used by other programs that I would like to keep.

Thank you.

Hello,

Where do you store those txt files?
In your temp folder?

Hi, Sandra

Most of these text files are created by the programs themselves and stored in their respective directories, such as the C:\Program Files folder, although a few are scattered elsewhere in the C drive.

Those that I have personally created, however, are stored in my desktop and archived in my D drive.

I should point out that the data contained in some of these text files are integral to the programs that utilize them. They are database values, not some harmless readmes, which is why I am shocked to see them in the shredder scans.

My guess is that File Shredder's code of scanning within the temporary files somehow failed, and instead, scanned all the available drives entirely for text files. This is supported by the huge spike in memory usage when I run the scan, and the longer than usual waiting time for it to load its findings.

If it may be of use to you, it occurred after the recent definition update.

I hope you can look into and resolve this problem soon.

Thank you, and best of luck!
