On Feb 15 my hard drive failed, so I thought.
A 3 1/2 boot disk fail. Oh, I thought, a bad disk. And another?
Well, had made CD boot disks form the 3 1/2 floppies. That worked. Come to find out that the 3 1/2 disks were OK. And a text file could be read from another boot drive. But not from the 3 1/2 drive?
The two hard drives did not show up in the BIOS.
The OS was Windows 98SE, the computer was an HP 7920.
I had a BIOS update boot CD made. That didn't fix the problem. ?
The only thing I gave permission to load that week end was an Adobe Flash Video update.
The boot hard drive has not yet be checked to see if it is still readable. (That is yet to be done.)
I'm using a different computer with Windows 2000. And update it so I can use it until and if I figure out how the attack happened.
