Had Spyware Doctor 2006 popup this morning, haven't seen it since and can't find any of the (randomnumber).exe files to kill in task manager... System has been running quite slow for a while, I'm hoping someone here can take a look at my HJT log and let me know if something's not right! Thanks!

Fallow this guide please, http://forums.spybot.info/showthread.php?t=288

yes, sorry I forgot I didn't have it downloaded, I only did a complete system re-install a few weeks ago...

I've downloaded it now and ran spybot, adaware, and ewido, all clean... I have done a housecall scan too - all didn't detect anything.

I did the system re-install because my computer seemed sluggish, but it still hasn't improved. And now the pop-up today (haven't had any since, but haven't changed anything either!)

I've moved the hijack this file to my c: here's a new log:

Thanks

Describe sluggish and system re-install
for example sluggish while online ?
by re-install do you mean repair install or a format and clean installation ?

Im not seeing any signs of malware
why dont we see an antivirus program in your logs ?

It just seems like it takes longer to open folders like my pictures or my documents, and IE...

And  I did have an anti virus (think it was Avast??) my partner installed it for me, but I've not put it back on yet  My re-install I mean putting the windows disk in the drive and I *think* my partner chose the quick format option??? So it wasn't a repair...

If the pc was recently formated and a problem still exists it must be hardware related.

I would still like to suggest an av program, never have a pc online without one.
avast, avg and antivir are mentioned here http://forums.spybot.info/showthread.php?t=279

Thanks for your reply :)

The sluggishness wasn't really my concern today - it's the fact I got the pop-up this morning which re-directed me to a site to buy apparent anti-spyware... I usually do an online scan and clean temp files cookies, adaware scan etc etc and watch what sites I go to quite closely. I will try and download an AV tonight though... My partner's computer on the other hand (which is networked to mine - mine is the main computer that connects, no router) always has tons of spyware, so I guess that's an even bigger reason for me to get a good AV.

When I got that pop up this morning I was at a forum I visit MANY times a day every day and have never had any pop ups from there... And what's wierder still is that I haven't had a pop up since...

I'll keep an eye out for any more pop ups and I'll come back for some help if I do!

If I do have the need to come back should I start a new thread or post again in this one??

Thankyou for your help anyway :)
