so you guys have helped me numerous times and have always come through. i have ran s&d a number of times and even updated it and i cant seem to get rid of a certain virus.
somehow...i think my significant other (whom has noooo computer knowledge whatsoever) had downloaded something called data protection.
we now have shortcuts on our desktop for trojans that i cant get rid of. this data protection keeps trying to run and i dont know how to get rid of it.i also think that i have a problem with rundll. the message is always different but the end of the error is always the same and it states %1 not valid Win32 app
any help is greatly appreciated. thanks guys!!! i know youll come through!!

Hi Rosey,

"Data Protection" is a fake AV, so called Rogue. :fear:

I've already sent Team Spybot some detection rules for this Rogue. Let's hope that the they can integrate these rules fast. :)

Have you tried other Anti-Malware products?

If you can't get rid of it:

Please read this FAQ: "BEFORE you POST"(READ this Procedure BEFORE Requesting Assistance) (http://forums.spybot.info/showthread.php?t=288)

Then start your own thread in the Malware Removal Forum (http://forums.spybot.info/forumdisplay.php?f=22) and post your DDS logfile. An analyst will advise you as soon as available.
