Spybot won't open [Archive] - Safer-Networking Forums

I went to run spybot and I keep getting the error message: The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion.

I tried uninstalling it, running updates and I went through the FAQ and tried the fix and again the same error message kept poping up.

any advice?
