This thing started running on my other computer, and I never noticed it until it took over the whole thing. Whenever I try to run any program or executable, even command prompt, it comes up with a box containing "Warning, so and so file is infected, would you like to protect?" or something similar. I can't get SB or Malwarebytes to run, and AVG doesn't seem to be doing anything about it. Please help. There are also frequent pop-ups containing messages asking me to purchase a full scan and all that garbage.

On a side note, firefox has managed to open, but the webpages won't display because they're "infected"...

Thank you very much!

Not a problem, but been at this for many years and I cant tell you how many people have posted back saying its been resolved when a new scan with DDS shows it is not , your call but run DDS and post the log, if no reply in 3 days this thread will be closed

Download DDS by sUBs from one of the following links. Save it to your desktop.

DDS.com (http://www.techsupportforum.com/sectools/sUBs/dds)
DDS.scr (http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/sUBs/dds.scr)
DDS.pif (http://www.forospyware.com/sUBs/dds)

Double click on the DDS icon, allow it to run.
A small box will open, with an explaination about the tool. No input is needed, the scan is running.
Notepad will open with the results, click no to the Optional_Scan
Follow the instructions that pop up for posting the results.
Close the program window, and delete the program from your desktop.

Please note: You may have to disable any script protection running if the scan fails to run. After downloading the tool, disconnect from the internet and disable all antivirus protection. Run the scan, enable your A/V and reconnect to the internet.
