Hello,

I ran Spybot Search and Destroy and it found around 25 threats that needed to be removed. It said that it only removed 23 and needed to run on the next reboot to remove the other two.

So I rebooted and the computer would hang on the black screen before loading the windows logo. I tried booting in safe mode, and it would hang on isapnp.sys.

I researched this issue and it seems to be virus related - causing me to repair windows from the XP CD so I would not lose any files. The problem is:

When windows is installing devices on the 34th minute, Spybot starts to scan and is causing the repair to hang. Is there anyway to disable this scan from the command line since that is all I can access while Windows finishes installing devices.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Try typing "taskmgr" to load Task Manager, and then close the Spybot process

if that doesn't work try "taskkill /IM /F SpybotSD.exe"
