View Full Version : scheduled scan does not honor scan priority?
I have configured SBSD to run at scan priority "Lower". I have scheduled a weekly batch job to perform a scan. I expected the scheduled scan to run at the lower priority. What I actually observe is that the SpybotSD.exe run by the batch job runs at priority "8" which is "Normal" priority. What might I be doing wrong or misunderstanding about the scan priority option?
Spybot SD 1.6.2.46

Hello,
Did you use the sheduler in Spybot itself to shedule the scan?
Did you enter a password in order to run a sheduled scan?
Best regards

Hi Sandra. Yes, I used the scheduler in Spybot itself to schedule the scan. I do not enter a password to run the scan; I am not prompted for one.

Hello,
Please see:
Scheduled Tasks cannot run without a password/or with a blank password (http://www.support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;310715)
There is workaround for the password requirement in Windows XP.
See the following thread:
Scheduling a Spybot scan under Windows XP (http://forums.spybot.info/showthread.php?t=1828)

Hi Sandra. The articles you sent me have to do with a problem of scheduled tasks not running. I am not having that problem. The problem I am having is that the scheduled task is running at the scan priority "Normal", not the scan priority "Lower" which I had selected in the Spybot configuration.
Cheers, Edward
Was there ever a solution to this problem?
Peace...
