Hello All,

Thanks in advance for any help offered... This MSN problem is very annoying.

Ok brief history...

This computer has only been 'alive' for about a week. A fresh install from a 2002 XP disk. Then painfully updated until fully upto date.
I installed ZoneAlarm before connecting to the internet for the first time.

I have scanned with SpyBot S&D, XoftSpySE (licensed), Ad-Aware SE, Trend Micro Anti-Spyware and CWS shredder. All upto date and all found nothing.

Although XoftSpy keeps finding Viewpoint... can't seem to get rid of it fully, just comes back.

The 'auto update IE' is not selected in tools.

I followed the 'Before Posting' things to try. I tried the Bitchecker/guarder (forgot its name:blush: ) and that came back with nothing.

SpyBot found nothing in safe mode.

When i start up XoftSpy it gives a Home Page possible Hijack warning and this always seems to be my current home page: www.microsoft.com/isapi/redir.dll

No matter how many times i set it in IE to Google as home page, as soon as i close and start it again it's back to MSN.

So here is my HJT log:

Hello and welcome to the forum. The good news is your HJT log looks fine. The bad news is as off the last update of Zone Alarm this has been an issue.
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&rls=GGLG%2CGGLG%3A2006-16%2CGGLG%3Aen&q=Zone+alarm+and+home+page+problem&btnG=Search Just about anytime you mention Zone Alarm and home page, Google will give you information. If you are using the free version as I am, the only way I have heard of it being fixed was to uninstall ZA, change the home page and reinstall ZA. If you pay for the software, you should contact them with your feeling about the issue. I am guessing it is going to exist until ZA gets around to fixing it and updating. I also heard there is a setting in the paid version for changing the home page. Hope this information helps, and perhaps some of this will also:

Here is some great information from Tony Klein, Texruss, ChrisRLG and Grinler to help you stay clean and safe online:
